Drishti Marine Lifesavers and Local Fishermen Involved in Rescue of 27 Fishermen After Trawler Capsizes Off Mobor Beach

Drishti Marine lifesavers along with local fishermen, in the early hours of Sunday, were involved in the rescue of 27 fishermen who were on board a fishing boat that capsized after being stranded in the Mobor river mouth for several hours.

According to information available, Drishti Marine received information at around 11:30 pm on Saturday that a trawler, which had experienced a mechanical failure, was stranded off the beach, with several fishermen on board. The stranded fishing boat was stable until the wee hours of Sunday, when it eventually capsized and the crew of 27 fishermen on board panicked and called for help. Drishti Marine lifesavers at Mobor beach launched three jet skis at around 6:45 am to commence the rescue operation that lasted for more than an hour, in which 10 lifesavers were involved. The rescue operation was carried out in collaboration with fishermen and watersports operators who were on the site along with local fisherman Pele. All the 27 fishermen who were on board at the time were rescued and safely brought to the shore.
