4 Karnataka Tourists, Two Russians, Among Nine Rescued Off Goa Beaches Over Weekend

Panaji, October 2025: Four tourists from Karnataka were rescued, in two separate incidents, off Calangute beach by Drishti Marine lifesavers over the weekend. Two Russians and three domestic tourists from Kolkata were also rescued in separate incidents after being caught in rip currents off Sinquerim and Agonda beaches.  

Calangute beach: In a double rescue, two men from Karnataka who walked into the sea at night, were rescued by lifesavers on duty Subham Mukhiya, Manoj Manjhi, Narendra Kubal, Biliyam Surim and beach marshal Yogendra Yadav, with a rescue tube and safely brought back to shore.  In another incident, two Karnataka men were caught in a rip current. They were rescued by lifesavers Shivam Rajbhar and Chhrap Mestri, using a rescue tube, rescue board and brought safely back to shore.

Agonda beach: In a triple rescue, two women and one man from Kolkata, who were caught in a rip current and began drowning, were rescued by lifesaver Vikas Velip using a surfboard. Velip brought the trio safely back to shore. 

Sinquerim beach: Two Russian women caught in a rip current were rescued by lifesaver Santosh Linda using a rescue board. They were a part of a group of five women who were swimming near the rip current, three of whom managed to reach the shore safely.
